Stephanie Writer-Davies

In 1984 Stephanie succeeded in her childhood ambition when she graduated from Bristol University's School of Veterinary Science. For 4 years after qualification she worked in mixed practices in Yorkshire & Oxfordshire.

In 1988 she moved to London to concentrate on small animals. She spent 7 years in a busy surgery in Harrow. She then become the senior veterinary surgeon at a recently established, single handed practice in Hatfield.

The experience she gained in these two positions gave her the confidence to start her own practice & in March 1999 she opened Mimram Veterinary Centre, the first vets in Welwyn village.

Stephanie is married with 2 children, sharing her house with a dog, 3 cats, 4 guinea pigs & numerous tropical & cold water fish.

Receptionists

Rhoda

Rhoda has been a receptionist at Mimram since the practice first opened in 1999.  When she's not working at the practice, she has her own business doing one-to-one puppy visits & dog training.

She owns 4 dogs with whom she competes at obedience shows most weekends.  She has one daughter & a long-suffering husband!

Fiona

Fiona joined the surgery in January 2001 as a
part- time receptionist. After 16 years of teaching children, Fiona took herself off to Oaklands College & is now the proud owner of a Small Animal Diploma.

Home life consists of hubby, 3 grown up children, 2 dogs -  an oike of a Cocker Spaniel, an English Setter puppy, an elderly cat, 2 rescued guinea pigs & a stunning 9 year old fairground goldfish. She greatly enjoys being part of such a professional & caring team.

Tina

Tina joined the practice in Nov 2004 as a part-time receptionist. As she spent so much time here anyway with her cat, 4 rabbits & 2 guinea pigs it seemed a good idea to work here as well!

Tina studied biological sciences at Warwick University. Then after various jobs became a stay at home Mum for her two children. She loves animals & really enjoys her job.
